St. Paul the Apostle Minor Seminary, located in Mangochi, Malawi, is a distinguished secondary school dedicated to fostering academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community service. Established on November 4, 1985, our seminary provides a nurturing environment where Catholic boys who feel called to the priesthood can discern their vocation and embrace their call with confidence and commitment. Guided by our mission to integrate rigorous academic programs with Christian values, we strive to develop well-rounded individuals prepared to serve God and society.

Our History

Founding

The late Bishop Alessandro Assolari founded St. Paul the Apostle Minor Seminary with the aim of providing a conducive environment for young men discerning their call to the priesthood. Despite the challenges, Bishop Assolari’s vision was blessed by God, leading to the establishment of a seminary that continues to inspire and educate future priests.

Tribute to Bishop Assolari

Born on August 26, 1928, in Bergamo, Italy, Bishop Alessandro Assolari was ordained a Catholic priest on March 13, 1954. He dedicated his life to serving God in various missions, eventually becoming the first bishop of Mangochi Diocese. His legacy lives on through the seminary, which remains a testament to his faith and dedication.

Celebrating over 35 years of success, St. Paul the Apostle Minor Seminary has produced numerous priests and professionals who contribute positively to society. To date, about 1,567 students have passed through our corridors, with a significant number becoming ordained priests or engaging in various trades

Campus Description

St. Paul the Apostle Minor Seminary is located at the foot of Chiusi Hills, along Mangochi, Namwera road, Bakili Muluzi highway. Our campus provides a serene and conducive environment for academic and spiritual growth.
